South Rome Redevelopment Corporation and Laurel Street Residential are pleased to report that construction is going very well on Burrell Square, Etowah Bend, and McCall Place, which, combined, will total 84 brand-new affordable rental units and $14 million of investment in South Rome.
McCall Place at the corner of South Broad and West Forest will be the first site to be finished, with construction scheduled to be complete in July. McCall Place features 27 one- two- and three- bedroom units in two buildings.
Next to be finished in September will be Etowah Bend, which will feature 23 one- two- and three- bedroom units in two buildings. The site features one building at the corner of South Broad and Etowah Terrace and a second building on Etowah Terrace overlooking the Etowah River.
The final site to be finished will be Burrell Square at the intersection of Cherokee and Hardy, with construction scheduled to be completed by the end of 2017. Burrell Square will feature 17 duplexes for a total of 34 two- and three- bedroom units, along with a community building featuring a fitness room, computer center, laundry room, and playground among other amenities for future residents.
All three properties will be managed by Gateway Management Company, which has begun taking applications for new residents.
